CBF VILLAGE PROGRAMME

This is a new CBF programme aiming at alleviating poverty at the Village level. Insha Allah, it is hoped   to make a study of the peculiar needs and requirements of the selected Village. For example, goat/cattle rearing, boats, nets and other accessories for fishing, agricultural support, vocational training, sewing machines, educational assistance, self employment facilities, small loans and the likes.

Our first experiment was in a remote village called Poovarasantheevu in Kinniya in the Trincomalee District in the Eastern Province and about 350 KM from Colombo. This Village goes ten feet under water during heavy floods and a so called border Village. In early April this year, the CBF spent Rs 4.5 Million on goats, boats and accessories, sewing machines and educational facilities. Maasha Allah!  approximately over one hundred families and 650 students were benefitted.

The whole idea of the CBF Village Programme concept is to help out poor and needy families in the selected Village to enhance their life skills and quality of life.

Insha Allah, it is hoped to spend a minimum of Rs 4 Million (approximately US $ 40, 000) on a selected Village.

CBF would very much appreciate if contributors and donors would come forward to assist this worthy and challenging venture of the CBF by undertaking the sponsoring of the expenditure involved in a Village.
